Jennifer Hudson has teamed up with the Human Rights Campaign to support marriage equality.
The Grammy and Oscar winner appeared in a short YouTube video, announcing her partnership with the HRC. In the video, she speaks about her long-time support of the LGBT community, and also announced that she will perform at the HRC’s annual dinner later this month.
Speaking of Jennifer Hudson’s endorsement,HRC President Chad Griffin said, “Jennifer Hudson’s extraordinary talents on and off the stage inspire us in our work for full LGBT equality.”
“Her performance at our national dinner is sure to make a remarkable evening even more exceptional. We’re thrilled Jennifer is joining us, and we’re incredibly grateful to have her support moving forward as we work together to fight discrimination and engage all Americans in the conversation about the need for nationwide equality.”
The National Dinner, which is already sold out, will take place on October 25. President Bill Clinton will deliver the evening’s keynote address, while Elton John and his partner David Furnish will be honoured with HRC’s National Equality Award.
