Hit American TV series Glee is set to introduce a new character during its final season – and according to insiders, he’s a “gay football stud who can throw you in a dumpster” if you mess with him.
The Fox musical series, which has enjoyed five years on the air, will return for a 13-episode sixth season in the first quarter of 2015, with a surprising five new characters joining the cast.
The character, named Spencer, has been described as a “post-Glee gay”, who will “kick people’s asses” if they tease him about his sexuality.
Casting announcements for the new roles will be made in the coming weeks, though it has already been confirmed that Naya Rivera will reprise her role as Santana – albeit in a recurring role rather than a series regular – during the show’s final run, despite being written out of the closing episode of season five.
Amidst rumours of on-set feuds between 27 year-old Rivera and fellow castmate Lea Michelle, show insiders told E! Online, “We love Naya and only want the best for her. Hopefully we can work it out. We all needed a moment…the break is best for everyone”.
