Actress and writer, Lena Dunham, told Ellen this week that she won’t marry her long time boyfriend Jack Antonoff until same-sex marriage is allowed in every US state.

The Girls creator has been dating her boyfriend for three years, but says that she won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon. Dunham, who has a lesbian sister and has always been an outspoken advocate of gay rights told Ellen, “The idea of having a celebration that can’t be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn’t really feel like a celebration at all.

“So until that’s something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally – it’s just not something that we’re gonna do.”
