Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) is proud to support people at every stage of life through a wide and diverse range of learning opportunities across the counties of Louth and Meath. Whether you are taking your first step in education, returning after some time away, building new skills, or exploring a different career path, LMETB is here to help you move forward, gaining confidence in your learning abilities as you progress.
At the heart of local communities, our Schools and Further Education and Training (FET) centres provide lifelong learning opportunities to more than 30,000 learners each year. With a strong local presence, you are never too far from one of our facilities. From Community National Schools and Post-Primary education to Further Education colleges, apprenticeships, vocational training, and Youthreach centres, we offer a variety of pathways designed to meet a wide range of needs. We also provide Back to Education programmes, literacy supports, and flexible day and evening courses, ensuring there is something for everyone.
A Culture of Inclusion and Support
LMETB understands that when it comes to embarking on a new chapter as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, the reassurance that you will be accepted for who you are can make a world of difference.
Creating safe, welcoming and inclusive environments is central to everything we do. At LMETB, we are committed to ensuring that everyone—learners and staff alike—feels respected, supported, and valued. We continue to promote diversity across our organisation, recognising that different experiences, perspectives, and abilities enrich both our workplaces and learning environments.
As the largest equal opportunities employer in the Northeast of Ireland, we are proud to support our staff through a range of staff policies and initiatives, including our Employee Assistance Programme. Our commitment to inclusion is also reflected in our FET Centres and Schools with two schools going the extra mile. O’Carolan College in Nobber and St. Peter’s College in Dunboyne were recently awarded the Belong To LGBTQ+ Quality Mark in recognition of their outstanding dedication to fostering inclusive school environments.

Support GCN
GCN is a free, vital resource for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
GCN is a trading name of National LGBT Federation CLG, a registered charity - Charity Number: 20034580.
GCN relies on the generous support of the community and allies to sustain the crucial work that we do. Producing GCN is costly, and, in an industry which has been hugely impacted by rising costs, we need your support to help sustain and grow this vital resource.
Supporting GCN for as little as €1.99 per month will help us continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
