Love Sensation announces its return for 2020

The crew behind Mother have announced that LGBT+ music festival Love Sensation will return next summer, July 25 and 26, 2020!

Love Sensation 2020

The queer hit of 2019 and most fabulous newcomer to the festival scene, Love Sensation will return this July 25 and 26 2020. Back for its second joyful instalment, Love Sensation promises again to create a queer haven in the centre of the capital.

Love Sensation is a special kind of event that dares to dream and creates an authentic and inclusive space that champions the LGBT+ community and its allies. We want to share in the power and exuberance of gathering together and celebrating life, showing up and being yourself.

Love Sensation 2020

Love Sensation made its stunning debut in August 2019 and was met with widespread praise from festival-goers.

Festival organiser Cormac Cashman told GCN:

“We’re really excited to be able to bring Love Sensation back this summer, the atmosphere last year was incredible and we want to recreate that beautiful queer haven again in the heart of the city.”

Will St Leger, who designed the ACT UP activation seen across the festival grounds said:

“Love Sensation is the first festival that I’ve been to where I felt LGBTQI+ people like myself, could be our true selves. Joyus, expressive, respectful, brave, caring, inclusive, mindful and full of love and compassion. Thank you, Mother.”

Holly Shortall, who did a live episode of Popsessed in the Queer Quarters with Conor Behan tweeted:

“Can’t get over how GORGE Love Sensation was. Amazing vibe, gorgeous people, barely any queues for drinks/food/toilets, and I didn’t witness an iota of trouble which only goes to prove that LGBTQ+ people are the best in the world. Huge well done @cormacashman & @lisadonegal x”

The Main Stage was filled with spectacular live performances from Lily Allen, Kelis, Clean Bandit, Soulé, ELM, Le Galaxie, Le Boom, Toucan, Joyful Noise Choir and the magical Mother DJs, all hosted by the incredible Panti Bliss.

Lily Allen thanked Dublin following her performance:

She wrote in a tweet: “Dublin, thank you for giving me your love sensation.

“Definitely still feeling it the next day. Hopefully you won’t ghost me and we’ll do it again soon.”

Headliners for Love Sensation 2020 will be announced shortly with tickets on sale early in the New Year. For early access to tickets, sign up at https://www.lovesensation.ie/signup
