The incredible folks behind the Mother Pride Block Party have announced their support for this year’s Trans and Intersex Pride, revealing that they are coming on board to help make this year’s march the best and biggest ever.

While gearing up for the legendary Pride Block Party, due to take place in the glorious surroundings of Collins Barracks on June 23 and 24, Mother has revealed that they will also be assisting Trans and Intersex Pride in facilitating this year’s parade later this summer.

“‌We are proud Trans allies and feel it’s more important than ever to stand in defiance and solidarity with our trans siblings which is why we’re honoured to assist Trans and Intersex Pride with facilitating a safe and successful event,” the Mother team shared on social media today, June 9.

The annual march organised by Trans and Intersex Pride will take place on July 8, as announced at the launch event in Street 66 in April. Participants will gather at the Garden of Remembrance at 2pm and will then march through the streets of the capital and arrive at the Dáil to “bring Pride back to the radical roots of protest”.

Commenting on this collaboration, Trans and Intersex Pride Dublin released a statement: “Trans and Intersex Pride are incredibly grateful and proud to have the support of Mother Pride Block Party for this year’s March. ‌Mother Dublin have always been amazing allies to Trans and Intersex Pride Dublin and to the trans community in general.

“‌Because of their support, this years march will be bigger and better than ever and will include a wide variety of speakers from trade unions, the intersex community, anti-racist speakers and many more to be announced,” the statement continued.

“This years march is vital to attend as the last year has seen the rise of the far-right threaten the hard-won gains the queer community have won through decades of organised, grassroots struggle. The fight for trans liberation also includes the continued fight for informed, consent based GP-led healthcare and a complete end to IGM.”

The organisation concluded, “‌We would like to extend our warmest thank you to all of the team at Mother Pride Block Party for their support in the fight for trans liberation!”
