Today, May 16, a likeness of “Ireland’s mis-leading lady” Mr Pussy has been unveiled at The National Wax Museum. The legendary Alan Amsby will proudly reside in the Grand Hall of Fame in the Museum of the Westmoreland Street venue, celebrated for his contribution to the Irish entertainment industry over the last four-plus decades.

“Mr Pussy has had such an impact on the Irish showbiz scene and we are delighted to have guests see his figure and learn about his achievements, and the determination he had for making a name for himself in the entertainment industry,” said the museum director Paddy Dunning.

Known for paving the way for Irish drag artists, Mr Pussy has become a well-known name all over the country, having even performed both North and South of the border during The Troubles.

“We are so excited to have a new figure added to our museum and who better than a trailblazer of the Irish entertainment industry than Mr Pussy,” said Anna Kurowska, The National Wax Museum’s general manager.

“He has been an icon on the LGBTQ+ scene for many years now, and I’m sure his figure will be popular with our visitors. Delighted to have his iconic career immortalised in wax at the museum.”

Overlooking the O’Connell Street Bridge, National Wax Museum Plus is situated in the Lafayette building and exhibits “wax figures of renowned Irish and international celebrities, writers, inventors, political leaders and historical figures.”

”We are thrilled to welcome the figure of Mr Pussy to our Museum,” said Conor Reid, the museum’s marketing coordinator. “It is a momentous occasion and an iconic moment for the LGBTQ+ community especially coming up to Pride month. We can’t wait to have visitors in from all over in to see Mr Pussy in all his glory.”

You can book tickets to see the wax figure of Mr Pussy at one of Dublin’s most beloved tourist attractions here.
