This morning in the Seanad, Fianna Fail senator Averil Power talked about the RTE’s apology and payment to John Waters, Breda O’Brien and The Iona Institute over comments made by Rory O’Neill on the Saturday Night Show.

Power commented, “RTE has a responsibility to ensure that all voices are heard, not just those with the deepest pockets. I think that the revelations in the media over the past few days, about this financial payment, set a dangerous precedent ahead of the referendum on marriage equality. ”
