Two-time Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey has just hard launched her girlfriend, Aimee Sinacola, with a series of adorable photos shared on Instagram. The gymnast uploaded the post on Wednesday, March 19, marking the first time she has publicly addressed her sexuality.
Accompanied by a caption that simply says, “happy” alongside some emojis, Carey shared four photos with Sinacola, who is the Director of Creative Content for sports teams at the University of Oregon. The comment section is filled with supportive messages from fans, friends and fellow athletes alike.
Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, wrote: “freaking cuuuuuute,” while USA Gymnastics said: “always applauding your authenticity”.

On TikTok, she shared a screenshot that showed her being tagged in Jade’s post, saying: “When the notification came through and the world officially gets to know”. She also has a photo with her girlfriend as her lock screen.
24-year-old Jade Carey represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics as an individual, winning gold in floor exercise. She was one of the US ‘Golden Girls’, alongside Biles, Chiles, Lee and Hezly Rivera, for the 2024 Games, where she earned another gold, this time in the team event, and a bronze on vault.
Jade was recently crowned Female Athlete of the Year at Oregon State University, where she is currently competing for her senior season in the NCAA. She was also named as one of the six finalists for the prestigious AAI Award, alongside gymnasts Jordan Bowers, Audrey Davis, Aleah Finnegan, Grace McCallum and Leanne Wong. The result is to be determined.
