In anticipation of this year’s Dublin Pride festival, Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre has released its schedule of events for Saturday, June 29. Visitors can look forward to a delicious Pride Breakfast, a sign-making workshop, and a viewing party of the Dublin Pride Parade live-streamed on GCN’s YouTube channel.

“Join Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre on Saturday June 29th, for an extraordinary day filled with captivating events, coinciding with the highly anticipated Pride Parade,” said Outhouse in a statement earlier this week.

“Following a series of exhilarating events leading up to Pride, Outhouse has curated a lineup of activities that capture the vibrant spirit and diversity of Pride, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.”

The programme kicks off tomorrow morning (June 29) at 10am with an unmissable Pride Breakfast. Described as a “staple event in the Pride calendar,” the event not only allows attendees to enjoy a tasty meal but will also help Dublin’s LGBTQ+ community forge new connections ahead of Saturday afternoon’s parade.

Outhouse similarly invites members of Dublin’s LGBTQ+ community, particularly those who might not have anyone to attend the parade with, to join the Centre for its Pride Pals event from 10:30 to 11:30am.

The Pride Breakfast and Pride Pals events will be held alongside a Sign-Making Workshop, giving attendees an opportunity to create banners and signs to carry during the march. The Sign-Making Workshop will similarly begin at 10am in the Outhouse Theatre.

Following a busy morning of events, a contingent of Outhouse staff, volunteers, and patrons will be invited to march in the Dublin Pride Parade. While the Parade won’t kick off its colourful tour through the city centre until 12pm, those interested in marching in the parade with Outhouse will leave the Centre at 11:25am to walk to the starting point.

While marching in the country’s largest Pride Parade might be a dream come true for some LGBTQ+ people, Outhouse recognises that for others, the event could potentially be overwhelming.

As such, the Outhouse doors will remain open until 3pm, offering a quiet space for members of the community to relax, unwind, and take a break from the festivities. Patrons can similarly watch a live-stream of the Dublin Pride Parade (facilitated by GCN), in Outhouse’s Red Room while enjoying coffee and pastries from the centre’s outstanding café.

Outhouse’s programme will wrap up as the parade finishes its lap of the city, but thankfully, there are plenty more celebrations, including at the Pride Village in Merrion Square, which will be in full swing with entertainment, Pride merch, food, and much more.

While there will be drinks flowing at many other events in the city, Outhouse reminds patrons that the centre “is a dedicated non-alcohol space” for Saturday.
