After receiving almost $100k in donations, Daniel Pierce, who was violently evicted by his parents for being gay, has asked the public to donate instead to a charity instead.
When the video of Pierce being verbally and physically abused by his parents went viral last week, donation began flooding in from well-wishers worldwide.
However, since the teen has amassed more than 90k in donations, he has urged donors to contribute to Lost-n-Found Youth, an Atlanta-based non-profit that helps get LGBT homeless youth off the streets.
Pierce wrote on his Go Fund Me page ‘Please visit the Lost-n-Found Youth website at www.Lost-n-Found.org for more information on how you can make a difference for the many other kids in the world like me’.
Lost-n-Found Youth’s Executive Director Rick Westbrook told Gay Star News that Pierce was an “incredibly bright and courageous young man” and the epitome of who Lost n’ Found is here to serve.”
‘I would say we’re right at $10,000 (thanks to Pierce donations),” he added.
