Poz Vibe Podcast has launched a new HIV support campaign called ‘Little Me And HIV’, aiming to raise awareness about people’s lived experience with HIV. Rolled out on their Instagram profile, ‘Little Me And HIV’ is described as “a Poz Vibe Tribe campaign where people living with HIV explore their lived experiences by writing a letter to their younger self.”
The campaign is open to anyone who is living with HIV, with the Tribe asking participants to “write a letter to ‘little you’ about your journey with HIV and create a collaborative post with a photo/photos of little you.”
It further asks those interested to “collaborate with us @littlemeandhiv on any posts you make so that it will appear on our Instagram grid. Also be sure to tag us using #littlemeandhiv.”
The campaign already has over 10 of these stories, featuring people from many backgrounds, countries and life paths. Launched on May 17, the account is growing rapidly, creating more of the much-needed support and knowledge around HIV.

In one of the stories, Chairperson of Poz Vibe Tribe Conor Daniel Anderson shares, “The bad news is that it’s going to be very hard for a while. I know you think that the secret you’re holding onto is the worst thing you can be, and that you can’t tell anybody or they’ll never love you. I know that the secret makes you lonely, and that you don’t understand why it’s so hard to make friends.”
Conor continues the letter to his younger self by saying that, years later, “HIV becomes a trivial part of your life. You never forget that you have it, but it doesn’t take up much space anymore. All the secrets that you thought you’d never tell are out in the open and you are surrounded by love. You’ve never been happier. I will tell you this: it will all be worth it, and more. You will be glad to make it.”
Another message from Prateek Bhardwaj reads, “And little me, if there is one thing you should always remember, it is this: the parts of yourself that once made you feel isolated will one day become the reason someone else feels less alone.”

By sharing their stories, the people taking part in this campaign are doing important work to further education around HIV and stigma. Many of the letters are being met with widespread support, with people congratulating and complimenting the strength shown in creating a safer space for discussions around HIV. The campaign aims to help people living with HIV in Ireland to feel a little less alone in their journey.
Poz Vibe is also celebrating its fifth birthday this year, with the podcast reaching 100 episodes. To mark the occasion, they are throwing a party at The George on Friday, May 22, at 6pm. The event will also be a celebration of the launch of this new online campaign.
The campaign is supported by Man2Man, an online service providing sexual health and wellbeing information for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM) and trans people.
This new initiative follows Poz Vibe’s ‘You Me And HIV’ campaign, in collaboration with the HSE, which educated many around the realities of living with HIV and the supports that are available in Ireland.
