Queers for Palestine (Ireland) has announced it will be holding a fundraising table quiz on Thursday, October 17, at Street 66 on Parliament Street, Dublin. The event will raise funds for Uisce for Gaza, a clean water initiative run in collaboration with the Kildare branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) that provides aid to those in Gaza.
The fundraiser comes in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. Since October 7 last year, over 41,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 95,000 wounded as a result of Israel’s military offensive. In the face of relentless airstrikes, nearly 90% of the population in Gaza has also been displaced, with many living in dire conditions and lacking access to basic necessities such as clean water.
The Uisce for Gaza project aims to directly address these needs by providing clean, safe water to communities on the ground. Queers for Palestine (Ireland) is committed to supporting this initiative, inccluding through its fundraising quiz, reflecting their belief in interconnected struggles for justice and liberation across all marginalised groups.
