Read Korean Student's Unbelievable Response to Homophobia

KoreaA Korean school asked its students to answer an anonymous survey about gay students in the school and how they should be punished – there was one response which warranted viral popularity.

The teacher of one particular student posted their answer to Reddit Korea. The survey included questions such as ‘What do you think about homosexuality?’, ‘Do you think there are homosexuals in our school?’ and ‘What class do you think has the highest amount of homosexuals?’

The survey was circulated in response to a rumour that two students were in a lesbian relationship; the school seemed to want to find the culprits and punish them.

The survey reads, at the top: “All answers will be completely anonymous. Absolute honesty will be greatly appreciated for the safe and healthy school environments.”

One student decided to comply with the “absolute honesty” rule and responded accordingly, in a way honest and completely heartfelt.

The final question asked the students: ‘What do you think is the appropriate way for school to deal with homosexual students?’

This anonymous student responded:

“No action should be taken. Being gay is a personal characteristic which this school should not interfere with.

This survey, if it is meant to punish gay students, is ridiculous. Rather than attempting to ‘create a safe and healthy environment’, the school should work on its own issues.

This survey should be thrown away as it is a primitive and incredibly discriminatory. It could not possibly be more paradoxical.”

Way to go!
