The most expensive footballer in history Cristiano Ronaldo, has gone balls-out naked on the cover of Vogue Spain – but before you get too excited – his Russian supermodel fiancé Irina Shayk is standing right in front of him. What a spoilsport!

Famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, who has been regularly employed by the Royal Family since shooting Princess Diana for Vanity Fair magazine in 1997, was behind the lens on the exotic shoot, which is reminiscent of fellow power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s recent American Vogue cover – except theirs featured actual clothes. The woman responsible for styling the shoot, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, said, “Instead of dressing, undressing was better”.

29 year-old Ronaldo, who is currently in preparations for the World Cup with Portugal after finishing third in La Liga with Real Madrid, appears in one shot alongside Shayk, 28, both wearing only designer underwear. Shayk is comfortable on a Vogue set, having shot frequently for the famed Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Speaking behind the scenes about the photo set, Yolanda Sacristan, director of Vogue Spain said, “Mario knows how to capture the soul of those he photographs, I’m hopeful after this marvelous feature there will be others”.
