The RTÉ Concert Orchestra is set to deliver the ultimate Valentine’s celebration with Love, Loss and Lipstick: A Valentine’s Cabaret. The unmissable evening will offer an exploration of love in all its forms, from romance to heartbreak, and debauchery to divorce.

Presented by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with conductor Guy Barker, Love, Loss and Lipstick: A Valentine’s Cabaret will also feature special guest vocalists Joe Stilgoe (New Year’s Eve with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra) and Naomi Banks (Summer Lunchtime Celebrating Female Composers).

With a career moving through several distinct phases, Guy Barker travelled along a linear course from jazz soloist and sideman, through bandleader, composer and latterly one of the most in-demand arrangers in Europe.

He will be joined on stage by British singer-songwriter  Naomi Banks, who is well-known for her distinctive fusion of jazz, pop, and electronic music. Having begun recording professionally at just six years old, Banks earned scholarships to both the Purcell School of Music and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where she specialised in jazz vocals, saxophone, and classical piano.

Last but not least, Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter, who is part of Joe Stilgoe and the Entertainers, the new powerhouse jazz supergroup that has recently released Welcome to the Club, a pure love letter to jazz clubs around the world, and the people who frequent them.

This trio of musical talent will join the RTÉ Concert Orchestra for an unforgettable evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day, with a special lineup of show-stopping love-themed tunes, ranging from Cole Porter’s ‘Love for Sale’ to Leonard Cohen’s ‘Dance Me to the End of Love’, Tom Waits’ ‘Temptation’, and ‘Maybe This Time’ from Cabaret.

This incredible evening is taking place on Saturday, February 14, at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Get your tickets here before they sell out!

Presented by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra – founded in 1948, the RTÉ CO has a vibrant, eclectic repertoire encompassing popular, classical, jazz, traditional and more.
