Stars Sebastian Stan and Leo Woodall will play a gay couple who run a cannabis farm in a thrilling new film, Burning Rainbow Farm, and we are so ready for it!
Sebastian Stan has been riding a wave of amazing successes recently, from his role in Thunderbolts* to his appearance in The Apprentice. Meanwhile, Leo Woodall is gaining more popularity for roles in hit TV series One Day and The White Lotus season 2, and has also played the love interest in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
Burning Rainbow Farm is based on the true story of a gay couple who ran a cannabis farm as a retreat for cannabis activists and LGBTQ+ advocates. The two actors will play Tom Crosslin and Rollie Rohm, who created a ‘stoner utopia’, Rainbow Farm, in the 90s in Michigan, America. Tom Crosslin will be played by Woodall and Rohm will be played by Stan.
The film follows the couple as Rohm is arrested in 2001 for growing marijuana, and in turn, causes their son to be taken from them. This creates an aggressive tension between the couple and the authorities as a stand-off occurs, which ends in the death of the pair.

Burning Rainbow Farm is based on the true crime book Burning Rainbow Farm: How a Stoner Utopia Went Up in Smoke, by author Dean Kuiper, which was published in 2006.
The director of Burning Rainbow Farm is set to be Justin Kurzel, known for projects like Macbeth and Snowtown. Tommy Murphy has written the screenplay for this film.
Kurzel recently said to Variety, “Burning Rainbow Farm is a love story about two outliers who raise their middle finger to hate and declare, ‘This is who we are, and we dare you to take it from us.’ I’m excited to create this lovable and courageous couple with Sebastian and Leo, their union will be one to remember.”
More films are being created for LGBTQ+ audiences in recent years, and they are coming at a pivotal time. We hope you are as excited as we are for the next best, enthralling ‘Be Gay, Do Crime’ movie.
