Trans reporter, Zoey Tur, told right-wing pundit, Ben Shapiro that he would be “going home in an ambulance”,after he repeatedly called her “Sir” during a debate on HLN’s Dr Drew.

 
During an on-air debate over whether or not Caitlyn Jenner deserved the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs, Ben Shapiro, a right-wing news editor and trans reporter, Zoey Tur, engaged in a heated quarrel in which the conservative repeatedly called her “sir” and questioned her “genetics”. He also said that he believes that trans people are mentally deluded.

Speaking about Jenner, Tur said, “Did [Jenner] deserve the honour? Probably not. Is she brave? Of course she’s brave. All those years invested as the sports legend, to come out transgender is horribly difficult. It is the most difficult thing you can do… Being brave is being yourself. And being transgender is about the bravest thing you can do.”

However, things started to get heated when Shapiro refused to call Jenner and Tur by female pronouns, saying that he didn’t care if he was being disrespectful.

“Forget about the disrespect,” Shapiro said. “Facts don’t care about your feelings. It turns out that every chromosome, every cell in Caitlyn Jenner’s body, is male, with the exception of some of his sperm cells.”

Putting her hand on Shapiro’s shoulder, Tur said calmly, “We both know chromosomes don’t necessarily mean you’re male or female. You don’t know what you’re talking about, you’re not educated on genetics.”

But Shapiro was not backing down, responding, “What are your genetics, SIR?”

In retaliation to the disrespectful remarks, Tur held the back of Shapiro’s neck and said, “You cut that out now, or you’ll go home in an ambulance.”

The rest of the panel slammed Shapiro for intentionally being provocative by calling Tur by the wrong pronouns.

“It’s not a matter of aggressively insulting,” he said. “The entire discussion is whether we are embracing mental illness and delusion as a society.”

After the show, Shapiro filed assault charges against Tur for threatening him on-air. According to Breitbart News, the website which Shapiro works for, the police report was filed two days after the “assault”.
