John Travolta has finally responded to claims that he was involved in a same-sex relationship with an employee, telling The Daily Beast that accusations are “just about people wanting money.”
Travolta’s comments refer to a pending lawsuit brought against him by ex-pilot Douglas Gotterba. Gotterba alleges that he and the Pulp Fiction actor were in a sexual relationship together while he worked for the star’s aviation company, Alto, during the ’80s.
“It’s just about people wanting money. That’s all. It happens on many levels,” he said.
“Also, I don’t care that much about it. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can’t control it.
“I think that’s why it persists, to some degree.”
Gotterba, who worked for Travolta for six years in the 1980s, revealed plans to “tell the story of his life and those involved in it,” including his personal relationship with Travolta in 2012.
