The video, titled ‘Local boy takes down hate preacher in the most Scottish way possible’, was posted by Lachie Blair on the ‘Overheard in St Andrews’ Facebook page on Saturday.

It appears to show a man screaming unintelligibly before being drowned out by a mysterious mobile bagpiper.

The man was apparently ranting about how gay marriage is ruining Scotland’s economy before being interrupted by a bagpiper playing ‘Scotland the Brave’. Locals reported that the ranting man’s ravings were distorted and aggressive.

The piper’s arrival was greeted with cheers by assembled pedestrians.
