WATCH: Conchita Wurst’s Debut Single ‘Heroes’

Since her Eurovision victory earlier this year, Conchita has been a busy lady. Her new single ‘Heroes’ has just dropped.

She not only performed at the European Parliament in Brussels last month as part of a anti-discrimination event, but she was also invited to perform at the U.N. Headquarters in Vienna this week. Frankly, Conchita is on everyone’s dance card.

In spite of her busy schedule, Conchita has also managed to drop a single worthy of next year’s Eurovision. Aptly entitled Heroes, Conchita’s debut single is all powerhouse notes and soaring melodies. Though the video is only a lyrics video, it has some flawless pictures of Conchita in a white gown, sporting her trademark beard. A full video has yet to drop, but we’re fully expecting an expensively-produced, over-the-top video to rival anything Bonnie Tyler ever did.

Conchita’s single is reminiscent of the glory of Celine Dion’s 90’s success, our other favourite Eurovision glamourpuss, and just about the biggest ballad this side of Mariah Carey’s successful years.

This comes after some less than entertaining comments from one-time TV Eurovision pundit, Terry Wogan. He claimed that Conchita had turned the Eurovision into a “freakshow”. Has he actually been watching the Eurovision since he stopped presenting in 2008?

Conchita’s single is now available on iTunes and I, for one, am hoping it will grab the number one spot just so Russian government will have a collective bitch-fit.
