Doechii and Ayo Edebiri have officially broken the internet, or at least every sapphic corner of it, thanks to one gloriously chaotic moment during Doechii’s set at this year’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles.
Performing at Dodger Stadium, the chart-smashing, genre-blurring superstar delivered a show already pulsing with attitude before surprising fans by bringing out The Bear and Bottoms‘ beloved Ayo Edebiri during her track Crazy. Edebiri appeared on stage in a baseball cap and tank top, settling at a desk on wheels. What followed was the thing of fever dreams.

Dressed in thigh-high leather boots and very little else, Doechii sauntered around the desk before climbing atop it and easing into a sultry, theatrical lap dance that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Within minutes, clips of the moment were circulating across queer timelines faster than you could say “thank you, chef.”
Thank you, chef.

Edebiri’s reactions only fanned the flames. She fanned herself dramatically, grabbed Doechii’s thighs as the desk spun, and generally radiated the flustered delight of someone experiencing a cultural reset in real time. As one fan neatly put it: “I LOVE BEING GAY I LOVE AYO EDEBIRI I LOVE DOECHII.”

This isn’t Doechii’s first time igniting the stage with a celebrity cameo. At the 2024 MTV VMAs, she teamed up with Katy Perry for a deliciously provocative rendition of their hit I’m His, He’s Mine. But her Camp Flog Gnaw moment may be her most iconic yet, a perfect collision of queer joy, theatrics, and raw performance energy.
Beyond the spectacle, Doechii continues to cement her status as a queer icon. From championing trans rights to unapologetically calling herself a “real bi bitch”, she’s spent the past few years living her truth loudly and lovingly. Speaking to GQ in 2022, she reflected on embracing her sexuality: “I always knew I was queer, bisexual… but I didn’t really feel comfortable talking about it because nobody around me was gay.”
