WATCH: Heathers TV Re-Boot Trailer Has Many Perplexed

The cult 80's movie, Heathers, is being flipped on its head for a new TV series by Paramount and no-one knows what to make of it.

Heathers star lies on a bed a neon sign which reads flawless

Cult classic Heathers hit our screens in 1988.

Paramount TV released a trailer for an hourlong dramedy which will air on the Paramount TV network in the first quarter of 2018.

The original film starred Winona Ryder and was a dark comedy that commentated the dramatic lives of the popular teen girls at High School.

The reboot seems to completely turn the old narrative upside down and puts the “other” kids at the centre of proceedings.

The new “Heathers” making their classmates’ lives a living hell consist of plus-sized fashionista Heather Chandler (Melanie Field), genderqueer Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell), and Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews), a black student who’s the least of these three evils.

It takes this mix and then adds some trendy liberal slang making it seem almost like a parody.

The trailer currently has more than double the amount dislikes to likes on YouTube and the general consensus in the comments is “WTF”…

Selma Blair is part of the cast so it cant be all bad?
