Irish drag queens Panti Bliss and Bunny O’Hare have released a video in which they lip sync to Édith Piaf’s classic song ‘Non, je ne regrette rien’.

Panti Bunny lip sync

With Ireland’s LGBT+ community practising self-isolation, you might be needing a drag fix to get you through the day. Why not enjoy drag royalty Panti Bliss and Bunny O’Hare performing a hilarious lip-sync to an Édith Piaf classic?

This video is the latest in a series featuring the pair titled ‘2am Dressing Room Shenanigans’. Previous entries include lip syncs to Gwen Guthries’ ‘Ain’t Nothing Going On,’ and Jennifer Paige’s ‘Crush.’

The latest video was released shortly after the announcement that Eurovision 2020 would be cancelled in light of ongoing concerns related to the global COVID-19 pandemic. This lends to the video’s title, ‘No Eurovision, Nooh La La!’

It opens with the following text: “It was a very different world last Saturday when Panti and Bunni stopped drinking […] Panti had an ominous premonition.”

The pair are then shown bickering, with Panti suggesting they record another video in case they die in the meantime.

The text continues: “Well, Bunny didn’t die, but the viral apocalypse arrived and Eurovision was cancelled, so it was a good job they did record another option!”

The pair usually perform in Pantibar, however, with increasing concern over the spread of coronavirus, the bar has temporarily closed its doors with a view to reopening in the coming weeks.

A post from March 15 on the bar’s Facebook page reads: “We are late to keep you all posted but we wanted to discuss everything with all our members of staff firstly before making a public announcement.

“Our staff obviously had a lot of concerns and questions that we wanted to address before making our temporary closure public. We will remain close[d] for the foreseeable future, but we will keep everyone updated as things progress. Mind each other, and we will see you all very soon.”

On March 20, a hand washing station was installed at the entrance to Pantibar for public use.

Although public gatherings have been stalled for the foreseeable future, this lip sync series produced by Panti and Bunny offers an alternative for people craving live drag performance.
