Jared Leto delivered the most moving acceptance speech of the night when he was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.

Leto picked up the first gong of the night for his role as a Rayon, a transgender woman who is HIV positive.

An emotional Leto thanked his mother and brother, before closing the speech with a tribute to those who are HIV positive or who struggle to be their true selves.

He said, “This is for the 36 million people who have lost the battle to AIDS. And to those of you who have ever felt injustice because of who you are and who you love, I stand here in front of the world with you and for you. Thank you so much, and good night.”
