Sinead O’Connor has released the music video for her new single, ‘Take Me To Church’, and it references the clip to her iconic 1990 number one hit ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
The track is the first from her forthcoming 10th studio album, I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss, which is released on August 8.
The controversial singer made international headlines last year when she wrote a series of open letters to troubled 21 year-old singer Miley Cyrus, in which amongst other things the wise O’Connor told Cyrus “not to let the music industry make a prostitute out of you”.
The former Hannah Montana child star, who had referenced O’Connor’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ video in her ‘Wrecking Ball’ clip, responded by poking fun at O’Connor’s previous emotional public breakdowns, saying “Before Amanda Bynes, there was…” followed by a list of the Irish singer’s tweets about her unstable mental health.
