In late May of this year, Westlife star Markus Feehily took to Twitter on his 39th birthday to excitedly announce that he and his fiancé Cailean O’Neill were first-time dads-to-be. The couple posed for a mirror selfie together next to a sonogram and baby clothes to declare “the proudest moment of [their] lives”.

Fans, family and friends were all thrilled for the couple, many leaving kind comments of congratulations and well-wishes below the post.

Fellow bandmate Kian Egan expressed his excitement for the couple on Twitter after the joyful announcement.

Feehily announced that the couple would be welcoming a baby girl in July during a Westlife concert in Croke Park in Dublin. He further went on to post a photo of himself on Instagram doing some shopping for the new arrival in August. The singer posed with a baby’s pram in a childcare shop in August, clearly eager to take on the role of being a dad.

Now, just over four months later, Feehily and O’Neill have welcomed their baby girl Layla into the world. Feehily once again hopped onto Twitter and Instagram to share the good news with his followers accompanied by a heartwarming photo of the couple with the new arrival.

Again, there was an outpouring of support from both fans and fellow band members for the new dads with many sharing messages of congratulations below the popstar’s post.

At the same concert that the singer revealed baby Layla’s gender, Feehily also told the crowd that he couldn’t wait for his child to “grow up in this country” suggesting that he and partner O’Neill are planning on settling down in Ireland to start their family.

Beginning with their engagement in February following the announcement of their baby, then her recent arrival, to the Westlife Tour 2020 which is set to be the band’s biggest shows to date, the new dads have a jam-packed schedule.
