The film screened in the GAZE Film Festival in July, winning the ‘Spirit of GAZE‘ award for capturing “the spirit of the festival perfectly”.

“For a celebrated Irish writer like Mark O’Halloran, who just happens to be gay, to write such an inspiring screenplay dealing with sexuality, gender identity, compassion, duty, community, family, bullying and redemption, and to set it in Havana among the drag queens, showed how the personal struggles of young gay people are present in every culture and in every language.”

“That this Irish production so bravely transcends all cultural boundaries is a towering achievement by everyone who worked on it. Little wonder the company are called ‘Treasure Films’.”
