Dublin drag bus tours are here and we’re so on board

Discover Dublin in the most fabulous of ways by hopping on one of the campest cruises the capital has to offer.

Whether you’re a tourist looking to uncover the secrets of Dublin, or are just looking for an alternative and fun experience as a local, these new drag bus tours have got you covered. Two separate initiatives but both pose the same question: Are you ready for the ride of your life?

Beginning with the ‘Pretty Little Tour’ presented by two Pretty Little Things: Victoria Secret and Davina Devine, jump on board the Band Wagon and explore some of the city’s infamous celebrity hotspots. The Dublin drag icons keep you entertained and informed for the duration of the 90-minute double-decker bus tour, with live performances, interactive games and prizes to be won throughout!

Get picked up by the queens along Westmoreland Street, and following the tour, get dropped off at one of Victoria and Davina’s favourite Dublin pubs to continue the party.

Tickets are on sale now for the next edition of the Pretty Little Tour taking place on August 20 from 6PM.

The second of our two featured drag bus tours was announced earlier this year by entertainment company Hidden Dublin. ‘Dublin’s Drag Tour’ is a BYOB experience that sets out to explore a range of historical LGBTQ+ sites. With its first events ready to take place, passengers will not only receive queer history lessons but they will also be treated to games and performances from the fabulous Coco Ri(ot).

Scripted by none other than friend of GCN Avoca Reaction, expect to hear of Dublin Castle’s Gay Sex Scandal and the historical importance of Flikkers (among other things), in what is an ideal way to get more in touch with the city’s LGBTQ+ roots.

Hosted on a renovated Dublin Bus, the top deck has been converted into the perfect performance venue, and the bottom deck is decked out like a vintage drag bar that doubles as a mini-museum.

Buckle up for this trip of a lifetime, and don’t miss out on getting tickets now!

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
