Mae Muller, the London musician representing the UK in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, is going on tour and GCN has a pair of tickets to give away for her Dublin show in The Academy on November 27.
Within a week of its release, Muller’s track ‘I Wrote A Song’ entered the Top 40 charts, becoming the first UK Eurovision entry to do so since 2011. The song is Mae’s first release from of 2023, and at its core, talks about heartbreak, self-worth and empowerment.
Described as a euphoric and fierce voice, the artist is mostly celebrated for her ability to celebrate the female experience. A mix of fierce feminism and showing a newfound vulnerability is what attracts an ever-growing fanbase to her music.
Exploring love and loss and the attempt at fearless honesty within dating and relationships is what marks her new music. Drawing from her own experiences and speaking about the general frustrations of young women in today’s society, Muller manages to say what many young women feel.
Giving her voice to a new generation the artist speaks out about her journey of self-discovery: “I feel like I’m slowly learning to be vulnerable. I can be strong, sassy, and confident, and I can be sad and have my low moments: I’m still me… It’s just as empowering to show both sides.”
