To mark International Podcast Day, celebrated each year on September 30, we’re taking a look at some queer Irish shows you need to check out! Encompassing crime, comedy, history, and of course, Drag Race, this list is sure to have something for everyone.
Blood on the Dance Floor
Having just taken home two top prizes at the prestigious British Podcast Awards, Blood on the Dance Floor is a must-listen.
It details the murder of Darren Bradshaw, a 24-year-old police officer who was shot dead in 1997 at Belfast’s only gay bar at the time, The Parliament. Although a republican paramilitary group claimed responsibility for the killing, no one was ever convicted. Presented by Jordan Dunbar, the six-part series is available to listen here.
Poz Vibe
Presented by community favourites Veda Lady and Robbie Lawlor, this podcast is for people living with HIV as well as their families, friends and allies. Through fascinating interviews, they aim to create change and spread positive vibes all throughout Ireland. Listen here!

This wonderful podcast takes a deep dive into Irish queer history. Host Sinéad Walsh is joined by special guests including Sara R Phillips, Jackie McCarthy O’Brien, Shirley Temple Bar and many more, for fascinating episodes covering a diverse range of topics. Season 2 just dropped, tune in here.
Pistachio
From queer writer Ultan Pringle, Pistachio is an audio drama that charts the burgeoning relationship between an estranged American grandmother and her Irish grandson. Starring three-time Oscar nominee and Emmy award winner Piper Laurie in one of her final roles, don’t miss this gorgeous production.
I’m Grand Mam
No list of Irish queer podcasts would be complete without I’m Grand Mam. Corkonians PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey are at the helm, having a cuppa and a catch-up each week while sharing their latest trials, tribulations and triumphs. Check it out here!
