This LGBTQ+ apocalyptic book has queer characters and a pandemic. Pip is 17 and takes in 12-year-old Iris after a plague devastates the world. The pair must dodge all kinds of dangers on their way to safety while battling their identity.

Andrew is a gay 16-year-old boy who is facing the end of humanity alone until one day he is injured and ends up at the doorstep of Jamie, another teen boy. A superflu has killed off most of humanity but together, they search for civilisation, meeting many road bumps on the way. This book is queer, set in a pandemic and is sci-fi.
The Sound of Stars by Alechia Dow
The Sound of Stars has queer characters, sci-fi and aliens. An alien invasion leaves humanity hurt, and to survive, they must be emotionless. Ellie, the protagonist, does not accept this and has an illegal library. An alien who loves forbidden pop music finds her and the library. Together, Ellie and the alien set out to save humanity.
The Last Girl Scout by Natalie Ironside
This sci-fi, dystopian, post-war and queer novel is set in a post-apocalyptic America. Magnolia Blackadder is sent on a mission where she meets a woman with whom she forms a connection. The pair must work together to fight and protect humanity.
