Youtube sensation Connor Franta has posted an emotional coming out story on his Youtube channel to his 3.5 million followers.

The 22 year-old star told his vast audience that 2014 has been the year that he has discovered, and come to terms with, who he is.

Franta revealed how he tried to hide his sexuality, to ignore his feelings and concentrate on dating the opposite sex. It wasn’t until his sophomore year of college that he finally came to terms with his sexuality.

Franta used the medium of Youtube to post his emotional and honest video; he spoke about how long it affected his life and how he attempted to reveal his secret to himself out loud by saying “I am gay” into a mirror.

The six and a half minute video – entitled ‘Coming Out’ – already has over two million views, a mere 20 hours after it was posted.

In the final minute of the video, Franta became increasingly emotional as he feels that no one should have to hide who they are.

He revealed how supportive his friends and family have been, also most of his Youtube audience. Unfortunately, there have been a few dissenting comments from his subscribers but fortunately they are in the minority.

Congratulations Connor, this is a brave thing that you have done.
