The Imitation Game, Orange is the New Black and The Normal Heart all received nominations from the prestigious Screen Actors Guild on December 10.

This year has seen a worthy amount of LGBT representation on our screens and the SAGs seem to think they’ve done a pretty good job.

The Imitation Game was nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture’, the equivalent to ‘Best Picture’. Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley were nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor’ and ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role’ respectively.

HBO tv-movie The Normal Heart, about HIV/Aids epidemic in the 1980s, earned nominations for both Mark Ruffalo for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries’ and Julia Roberts for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries’.

In the category of ‘Outstanding Male Actor in a Comedy Series’, Jim Parsons and Eric Stonestreet picked up nominations for their respective roles in The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, while Uzo Aduba earned a nod for her role as Crazy Eyes in Orange is the New Black in the ‘Outstanding Female Actress in a Comedy Series category’.

Tatiana Masley earned a nod for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series’ for her numerous roles in Orphan Black; Orange is the New Black, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and Brooklyn Nine-Nine all earned nominations for the ensemble cast.

The SAG Awards will take place on January 25, 2015.
