Jules Stewart, mother of Kristen, says that she did not “out” her daughter as bisexual in a recent interview with a British tabloid.

Earlier this week, the internet exploded with the apparent “confirmation” of Kristen Stewart’s bisexuality – following month’s of speculation over her relationship with Alicia Cargile. According to an interview with The Sunday Mirror, Jules Stewart said she approves of K-Stew’s new girlfriend, adding, “What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl. I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men.”

Now, the script adviser denies even mentioning her 25 year-old daughter. She said,”Never ever did we discuss Kristen!”

She explained, “I spoke to Sharon Feinstein [journalist] about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum. It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express.”

While Stewart admitted to saying that Alicia Cargile was “a lovely girl”, she says her comments were taken out of context – that she was asked had she met her daughters personal assistant, and her Kristen’s relationship to Cargile was never brought up.

Feinstein took to Twitter to refute the claims that Stewart was misquoted. She intended to upload the online – after technically difficulties, she then claimed that she could no longer upload them as “there was a publisher involved”.

Eventually,

After much stalling…

Feinstein released a statement regarding the controversy.

She wrote on her blog, “I am aware that Ms Jules Stewart has stated that her interview with me has been used out of context, that she never discussed her daughter or her daughter’s relationship. That is simply incorrect.

“I am disappointed and saddened by her statements to the contrary This was a very positive story and one told by a loving parent. Any statements to the contrary are simply not supported and not true.”
