Clean Bandit’s Neil Milan is the latest celebrity to weigh in on the Sam Smith Oscar controversy – and he doesn’t hold back!
Poor Sam Smith. It’s clear he made a fool of himself when he wrongfully claimed to be the first openly gay man to win an Oscar at Sunday night’s ceremony, when he took home the gong for Best Original Song.
Actually Sam, many openly gay screenwriters, musician and actors were honoured before you. Elton John and Dustin Lance Black being among them.
We’re sure he’s still face-palming over it two days later. Neil Milan of Clean Bandit and ex-BF of Olly Alexander fame, is the latest gay celebrity to take fire at the crooner, calling his Bond track The Writings on the Wall “flaccid” and suggest Sam stopped “talking crap”.
His rant began on Twitter yesterday, and boy, was he relentless!
sam smith talking crap again ???? milk was such a beautiful film @DLanceBlack ???????????????? + writing on the wall is just a flaccid copy of earth song

Milan isn’t the only celebrity to put Sam on blast. After the ceremony, Dustin Lance Black was quick to point out that he won an Oscar in 2009 for his Milk screenplay, also telling the singer to stop texting his fiancé Tom Daley.
Hey @SamSmithWorld, if you have no idea who I am, it may be time to stop texting my fiancé. Here’s a start: https://t.co/8hGTRtIaMK
