RIOT is coming to the Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival this September for 11 performances
RIOT, created by iconoclast theatre-makers and event producers THISISPOPBABY, has been heralded as their “most entertaining show to date. The show is set to take over Dublin nightlife for 11 performances between September 14th and 25th at the Spiegeltent in Merrion Square as part of Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival.
THISISPOPBABY previously teamed up with Mother to bring Dublin YESTIVAL in May to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Yes vote in the marriage referendum. The event wowed its attendees, with performances from Rubberbandits, Prodijig, SugarRush and many more making it a night to remember!
The organisers say that RIOT is expected to be an “incendiary night of soulful entertainment, [and it] unites the best and brightest theatre, music, comedy, drag, and circus artists, in a glittering and fantastically Irish roulette of the brilliant, brazen and downright bizarre.
“Audiences can expect a mix-tape of theatrical text, Irish dance, urban licks, stunning aerial artistry, comic turns, gender discombobulation and, of course, banging tunes, to light up Merrion Square in the decadent surrounds of the sumptuous Spiegeltent.”
Performing in the show will be Queen of Ireland Panti, Emmet Kirwan (Dublin Oldschool), Megan Riordan (Once, The Musical), Street Performance World Champions Lords of Strut, electro-pop Irish dance duo and Riverdance alumni Up & Over It, Ireland’s only Cyr wheel artist Ronan Brady, along with Popbaby favourites Ruth Smith, Adam Matthews, Nicola Kavanagh and Philip Connaughton, in this “powerful explosion of performance, feeling and glitter that
pulsates with the energy of the dance floor.”
If you think that pulsating energy is something you’d be interested in then RIOT is the Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival show for you. And if YESTIVAL is anything to go by, THISISPOPBABY’s latest endeavour will be one that you don’t want to miss, so save the date!
