Sponsor LGBT+ Young People To Take Part In Girls Rock Dublin This Summer

Girls Rock Dublin are raising funds to increase the number of applicants they can support from under-represented groups, including LGBT+ young people, to rock out at their week-long summer camp in July.

Participants and mentors from last year's Girls Rock Dublin

Girls Rock Dublin (GRD) are launching a two-week crowdfunding campaign to help fund scholarships for campers at this year’s summer camp. Having already funded two scholarships, GRD want to bring that figure to ten in order to support applicants from socially underrepresented groups such as people from low-income backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people, asylum seekers, refugees and those with a disability.

The campaign launched on May 30th and will run for two weeks until June 13th. They are almost halfway towards their goal to raise € 1,600.

“We have had an amazing show of support from people who contributed to our fundraiser gig and music tech workshop, all of which goes towards running our volunteer led summer camp. We would like to reach out to people now and ask them to really help make this years camp accessible to as many campers as possible” – Rossella Bottone, founder of Girls Rock Dublin.
