Mother monster has arrived! The movie A Star is Born is out in all the cinemas now and here are some reasons why it is the best movie of the year.

Lady Gaga has been working on her acting skills and the Golden Globes do not lie, she is a true star in everything she does. The movie A Star Is Born is no different. For some people, it might seem like an easy transition, impersonating a singer, but the movie is way more than just performances and her well known amazing voice.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have an amazing and sexy chemistry together, in an interview with ET Canada, Gaga said that she was delighted with the invitation to give life to the character:

“Bradley came to my house, as both of us are descended from Italians, I was in my kitchen warming up some pasta from the day before and talking about life, family and everything. When we started singing together and I’ve heard his voice I was thrilled!

“We need to make this happen! Some people might think that it was an easy choice, but it was not! I was totally 100 per cent up to it. I am glad that Bradley fought for me to bring Ally to life, I really wanted to make Ally completely different to myself, my aim was that who watches the movie would not see Lady Gaga there in any way.

“Writing Joanne definitely helped me to create Ally who is an inspiration for many out there including myself.”

Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) and Ally (Lady Gaga) have an intense and beautiful love story, moved by loads of music, drama and sweat. The narrative is brilliant, the chemistry between them is unreal and the music performances are breathtaking. There is a reason why the internet is going nuts about this movie and in fairness, it is a true masterpiece. I cannot remember the last time I’ve cried watching a movie, no spoilers.

I am Shan-Ge-La say WHAT? Yes, mama! Our superstar queen is in the movie serving what she does the best! Performances and clever jokes. Drag Race fans will love the scenes with the queens, that is also featuring Willam who is better than ever before, with good lines and a threat to Ally (Gaga) as she tries to steal Jackson’s (Bradley) heart.

We could write a whole article about how amazing Lady Gaga’s voice is, but no need for that right? We are all aware of her talent but it’s still shocking to hear how amazing and gifted Gaga is. You can expect the best of her in every way possible; on stage, acapella, on the street, in the shower, she is just Lady Gaga and we all live for it. What we were not expecting at all is the vocal power of Bradley Cooper, he sounds unreal and like a true rockstar.

The storyline kept our attention in every single moment. More than a love story with an amazing soundtrack, every element of the story raises questions and impresses with its detail and the pairs embodiment of these characters. You will see Lady Gaga without makeup, giving everything she can to bring Ally to life. Jack (Bradley Cooper) is more than a rock star, the drama shows his past in many layers until he gets in the stage he is now.

The struggle with alcohol and drugs, the love story, the performances, the music, the production, everything makes the two hours and 15 minutes a masterpiece that you must see with your own eyes.

Yet one of the pleasures of “A Star Is Born” in all its renditions is that it is also about a woman whose ambitions are equal to those of any man and who steadily rises as she weeps and sings towards fabulous self-realisation and sovereignty.
