Rapper Azealia Banks took to Instagram to reveal that she had a confrontation with a member of Aer Lingus staff as her flight to Dublin prepared to take off from Gatwick.

A teary-eyed Banks told her Instagram followers about how she left the flight before take-off after a member of staff asked her a question. Banks then went on to call that specific steward an “ugly Irish bitch”.

In her story Banks said:

“Every time I come to the UK, they always make some shit with these airline people.

“They are always starting shit with me. I had my bags deep in the plane and the lady was asking me some questions.

“I was trying to find my passport as I didn’t have the answers and she was staring at me. I said ‘Don’t stare at me’.”

Banks continued:

“She goes to the captain of the plane and lies and says that I said ‘Oh don’t stare at me, I’ll sort you out.’ I’m from New York City, I don’t say shit like that, I don’t use that kind of slang.”

Banks added that she was confronted by members of security, who “chastised” her like “an animal” and made her feel “crowded”.

Banks added:

“The lady is like asking me some questions. And since I didn’t have an answer for her, she went a couple of seats over and she’s just like staring at me.

“Bitch, you are not going to play me over no fucking Aer Lingus flight. You’re not going to disrespect me and make a fucking spectacle out of me.

“I get off the plane. I’ve worked too hard in my life to be cornered by some ugly Irish bitch. These are ugly, Irish women here.”

A spokesperson from Aer Lingus confirmed that Banks left the flight before take-off:

“Aer Lingus can confirm that two guests scheduled to fly on the 10:55am flight from London Gatwick to Dublin (EI233) this morning disembarked themselves prior to departure.

“The guests in question got off the plane safely on their own accord, while all other guests remained on board. As they had luggage in the hold, the flight was delayed while that luggage was sourced.

“The flight departed Gatwick at 12:07 and landed in Dublin at 13:22. Aer Lingus has a strict no-tolerance policy towards disruptive guest behaviour.

“The safety and security remains our first priority.”

Banks added that her manager had secured her a ticket for another flight to Dublin.
