London Irish LGBT Network is teaming up with Opening Doors London to put on a superb Film and Social Evening in London on September 16.
The evening will kick off with a social followed by screenings of the two acclaimed short films: Four Quartets and toni_with_an_i. From the lineup, London Irish LGBT Network and Opening Doors London have come together to create an event promoting creativity and community in the Tavis House.
Four Quartets quickly gained recognition since its release, from being nominated for Best Short at the Teddi Awards and premiering at the Scottish Queer International Film Festival. The short tells the heartwarming story of Raf as he tries to find his place in a queer club and ultimately giving in to the music.
Toni_with_an_i is described as “Little Miss Sunshine meets Matilda for the digital age”. The short film follows the story of Toni, 13, as she struggles to fit into school and finding help through the internet.
The short toni_with_an_i was commissioned as part of the BFI/BBC Born Digital Scheme. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web, Born Digital was set up to give new and emerging filmmakers funding for 12 commissioned shorts.

Both of the shorts are directed by the immensely talented director Marco Alessi. All the choreography in the two shorts was done by committee member James Berkey, a prominent freelance choreographer and movement director.

London Irish LGBT Network is committed to building links between Irish and UK LGBT+ communities. Opening Doors London support and work towards improving the experience of older LGBT+ people.
