LA-based clothing company American Apparel released their new line of T-shirts, tank tops and baseballs caps bearing the words ‘Make America Gay Again’ this week, reports The Huffington Post.

The collection was produced by Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the Ally Coalition. The limited edition collection also features the slogan ‘Make America LGBTQ Again’.

Musician Jack Antonoff who co-founded the Ally Coalition with his sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, said in a press release: “Rachel and I founded The Ally Coalition to inspire fans to take action for LGBTQ Equality. During a year where LGBTQ rights are being threatened all over the states, everyone is responsible for coming together and challenging these injustices.”

“I’m proud that The Ally Coalition is joining with American Apparel and The Human Rights Campaign to #MakeAmericaGayAgain.”

This is not the first time American Apparel has aligned itself with LGBT causes. After the passing of Prop 8, which made same-sex marriage illegal in the state of California, in 2008, the company released a popular line of T-shirts bearing the slogan ‘Legalize Gay’.

Thirty percent of the proceeds from American Apparel’s sales will go toward supporting the Equality Act, the HRC is donating 100 percent of profits from items purchased on their online store.
