“I identify as female,” said Jenner in his long-anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC last night. “That’s hard for Bruce Jenner to say. Why? I don’t want to disappoint people.”
In the 2 hours, Jenner told how his* wife Kris reacted to the transition, how he has dealt with tabloid sensationalism and his plans for the future. “What I am doing is going to do some good,” Jenner said, “and we’re going to change the world. I really, firmly believe that.”
Media outlets and fellow celebrities are applauding the former Olympian and reality TV star for having the courage to come out amid the media-circus that constantly follows the Kardashian-Jenner Clan. HIs family members tweeted:
Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero.
