Catholic cardinal Raymond Burke has claimed that the people of Ireland are worse than Pagans because we passed the marriage referendum.
Cardinal Raymond Burke, who was demoted from a senior role in the Vatican to be patron of the Order of Malta, said last night that he struggled to understand “any nation redefining marriage”, The Tablet reports.
Coming from a man who vowed never to be married, it’s fair to say he doesn’t understand any type of marriage.
“I mean, this is a defiance of God. It’s just incredible. Pagans may have tolerated homosexual behaviours, they never dared to say this was marriage,” Burke told Catholic group, the Newman Society at Oxford University.
Responding to a question about the marginalisation of faith in the public sphere, Burke blames the internet for childhood corruption. “The culture is thoroughly corrupted if I may say so, and the children are being exposed to this, especially through the internet.”
Burke has also insisted that remarried Catholics and gay people are the same as reformed murderers; just because they are kind or faithful to others does not eliminate their other sins.
This comes on the back of the Vatican’s official statement, through the mindless cavern of Cardinal Pietro Parolin who said yesterday, “I think that you cannot just talk of a defeat for Christian principles, but of a defeat for humanity.”
