Chappell Roan has left the queer community speechless with her relationship update in the latest episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
From discussing PDA and oral sex to her public image, the pop-turned-country singer also divulged that she is in a six-month-long relationship.
@callherdaddy @chappell roan is pro single…she’s just not 😉
The podcast host asked the question after the two discussed the importance of being single, where Chappell Roan confirmed her romance. The singer then continued: “I’m very in love… but I am pro-single. Everyone should be single. I’m serious! Be single. Stop dating. Be single. Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can 100% be okay alone before you date.”
The new beau in question is someone she dated before she became a Grammy winner, and someone she was introduced to through a mutual friend.
With her immense rise to stardom, the ‘Casual’ singer states that she hasn’t been seriously involved with anyone else since becoming famous, saying: “I haven’t dated someone since this all really, really blew up. I’m dating the same person that I was dating before I blew up, so I’m not sure how I would date now.”
She added that she doesn’t trust people anymore and that if she were to talk to someone new, she would be worried about them leaking their conversations. “I think I would be so single right now, because you’re terrified of their intentions. I’m scared. I don’t trust anyone. I just think, in my head, any new person that I’m texting, I’m like, ‘I’m assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else.'”

Apart from her relationship status, Roan and Cooper also talked about some previous controversy surrounding the artist. Chappell shared that after previously addressing her boundaries with the public, she thinks that fans are now scared to approach her.
“I think people are scared of me. I think I made a big enough deal about not talking to me that people do not talk to me. I’ve been with people, friends who are artists, and when they’re with me, they’re like, ‘It’s a forcefield around us. People don’t come up to me if I’m with you’.
“I know it really hurts people because they take it – really, they feel like it’s me disrespecting them, that I owe it to them. And that how dare I call abuse, complaining about success. I get that a lot. But I’m not complaining about success; I’m complaining about creepy behaviour.
“I love admiration. I just don’t want you to interrupt me when I’m having a fight with my girlfriend.”

The interview also touched on politics. After receiving backlash for not endorsing Kamala Harris in last year’s US elections, she mentioned the double standard she’s held to being an LGBTQ+ artist. She expressed that she’s expected to play by different rules, and that she gets asked “a lot of fucking crazy questions that a lot of my peers would not get asked.”
The Call Her Daddy interview continued with some rapid-fire questions, which confirmed Chappell’s hatred for PDA, her preference for late-night sex over morning, and how she enjoys both FaceTime and phone calls.
This episode is hilarious and divulging from start to finish, as we even get told how much the artist had to scrub herself after her iconic Statue of Liberty look at the 2024 Governors Ball.
The podcast is available to stream on Spotify and YouTube, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays and Sundays. Alex Cooper can be found on social media at @callherdaddy and @alexandracooper.
