Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride has announced the appointment of Lynne Tracey as the new Chair of its board as the organisation continues to evolve and expand its work within the community.

Co-CEO of Dublin Pride, Jamie Kenny, expressed excitement about the announcement, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Lynne Tracey as Chair of Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride. Lynne has been a strong advocate for inclusion over many years, and as we enter our next chapter, Lynne’s leadership of the board will be invaluable in supporting our staff team and strengthening the organisation as we continue to grow and support our community.”

Tracey brings significant experience to the role, having previously served on the boards of TENI and Equality for Children. Known for her longstanding advocacy and allyship, her appointment signals a continued commitment to inclusion, representation, and community-led progress.

Her arrival comes at an exciting time for Dublin Pride, following the recent announcement of this year’s Grand Marshal, Phillipa Ryder, and with one further announcement still to come.

Co-CEO of Dublin Pride, Jed Dowling, also commented on the appointment: “We’ve also welcomed 5 other new directors to our board, who, along with our existing directors, will help shape the future of Dublin Pride. Over the next year, we’ll have a new strategic plan that will protect our legacy while bringing new and fresh ideas to ensure we continue to represent the community we serve and adapt to changing times.”

Speaking about her appointment, Lynne Tracey expressed both pride and optimism for the future.

“I am incredibly honoured to have been asked to chair the Board of Dublin Pride. Pride represents the very best of us, there is no judgment, it is inclusive, caring and affirming. I look forward to working with the brilliant team at Dublin Pride as we celebrate the many identities and experiences of the Community and our allies with this year’s theme, ‘One Story. Many Voices. Scéal Amháin. Go Leor Guthanna.’”

With new leadership and even more exciting news on the horizon, Dublin Pride looks set to continue growing while staying rooted in its core values of inclusivity, celebration, and community.

The festival is set to return from June 24 to 28 with incredible events in store. You can view the full 2026 Dublin Pride programme on their website.
