The magical world of Oz is back on screen as a brand-new teaser for Wicked: For Good, the second instalment in Jon M. Chu’s two-part adaptation of the record-breaking stage musical, has finally arrived. Released on Wednesday, September 3, across social media, the clip offers fans another look at the sequel to last year’s critically acclaimed Wicked.

Picking up in the aftermath of the first film, the teaser shows how Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) have been transformed by the political turmoil engulfing Oz. Their once-deep friendship now fractured, the two witches find themselves on opposing sides of struggle in Emerald City.

“You can’t resist this,” the clip teases, echoing a line delivered by Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), who also returns alongside Bowen Yang as Pfannee. The film also features the return of Jeff Goldblum as the enigmatic Wizard and Michelle Yeoh as the formidable Madame Morrible. Also confirmed are Ethan Slater as Boq and Marissa Bode as Nessarose, alongside the core ensemble.

In addition to glimpses of sweeping new musical numbers, the clip delights fans by teasing the beloved duet For Good, a moment long cherished by audiences since the show’s Broadway debut in 2003.

The first film, released in 2024, was both a box office and awards season triumph, winning two Oscars and earning nominations for both Erivo and Grande. Its diverse cast was celebrated, highlighting the film’s impact beyond the screen. With the second chapter promising even higher stakes, expectations are soaring for another dazzling success.

Wicked itself began as Gregory Maguire’s revisionist novel before being transformed into one of the most successful musicals in West End and Broadway history. Fans of the original production will recognise key elements from the second act, now translated to screen with Jon M. Chu’s trademark visual flair.

Wicked: For Good flies into cinemas on November 21, 2025, promising to leave audiences changed for good.
