Last week it was confirmed that 16 year-old Elle Fanning would take on the role of a trans teen in ‘Three Generations‘. Now, we get the first look at Fanning on the set of the indie-drama.

Elle Fanning (Super 8, Maleficent) looks unrecognisable on the Brooklyn set of Three Generations, a film that explore’s the life of a teenager Ray, who is in the process of transitioning from female to male.

Naomi Watts is signed on to play Ray’s single mother, Maggie, who is having difficulty coming to terms with her son’s gender identity. Veteran actress Susan Sarandon will play Maggie’s mother and Ray’s grandmother, a music manager who in a lesbian relationship.

Three Generations is expected to be released mid-2015.
