The sold out GCN’s Eurovision Douze Points Party raised €2,200 for GCN Forever
On Saturday, GCN hosted our 6th Annual Eurovision Douze Points Party in Dublin’s The Sugar Club raising over two thousand Euro in funding for the community magazine.
The sold out event raised €2,200 to assist in the continued production of the LGBT community resource GCN, Ireland’s longest running national LGBT magazine.

Drag king Julian Mandrews hosted the event with the assistance of faux drag queen Tallulah Boom, making the evening a special occasion for all Eurovision Song Contest fans.
Extra special guest appearances included Conchita Wurst (Stefano Pappalardo), Montenegro’s 2017 Eurovision entrant, Slavko Kalezić (Aidan Quigley), and the winner of the best dressed competition Aileen Finn who was under the fabulous guise of Ukraine’s former Eurovision contestant Verka Serduchka.
In other Eurovision news, Portugal won the song contest with their divisive, eccentric performance from Salvador Sobral, giving the country their first Eurovision Song Contest win.
Sobral’s older sister, Luisa Sobral, wrote the song which was sung in Portuguese and joined him to perform it during the victory encore.
As the winners of the song contest, Portugal will now host next year’s Eurovision.
Just before Portugal celebrated the news of their victory, the Israeli presenter who was detailing the country’s results learned on air that this will be Israel’s last entry into the Eurovision because the network which broadcast the contest would be shutting down.
The presenter received a breaking news bulletin from the Israeli parliament stating that the national broadcasting channel, Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA), would be shut down.
The presenter continued to convey the heart wrenching news to her viewers before concluding with some touching words.
