Glória LGBT+ Choir to release series of live cathedral recordings

Dublin’s LGBTQ+ choir captures the spirit of community in a stirring three-part release.

Glória LGBT+ Choir

Dublin’s Glória LGBT+ Choir has announced a new three-part release series, drawn from a memorable winter concert staged in St Patrick’s Cathedral in December 2025. Known for its vibrant performances and inclusive ethos, the choir now brings that same atmosphere to listeners everywhere through a sequence of carefully crafted live recordings.

The first release, available now, is a luminous choral reimagining of ‘Dreams’, originally made famous by The Cranberries. Reinterpreted for a full choir, the arrangement transforms the familiar into something altogether more ethereal, carried by the resonance of over 100 voices and the cathedral’s remarkable acoustics. It offers both a tribute and a reinvention, inviting audiences to hear a beloved classic anew.

Further releases will follow in the coming months. Late May will see the arrival of ‘Mad World’, set to be presented with a haunting, reflective quality that underscores the emotional depth of the ensemble. In June, the series concludes with ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’’, a timeless anthem that speaks to progress and hope, values deeply embedded in Glória’s identity.

Under the direction of conductor Dylan Walsh, the choir demonstrates not only musical precision but a profound sense of connection. This project is more than a set of recordings; it is a celebration of shared experience, capturing the warmth and solidarity of a live performance in one of Ireland’s most historic spaces.

Founded in October 1995, Glória LGBT+ Choir began with a modest gathering of around 25 singers responding to a small advertisement in GCN. Today, it has grown into a thriving community of around 60 members, united by a passion for music and inclusivity. Its repertoire spans genres from classical to contemporary, always aiming to surprise, challenge and entertain.

Listeners are now invited to experience the first single and share in the pride, whether they were present on that December evening or are discovering the choir for the first time.
